Advice: App spree, CLIs, garden?

Re: Advice: App spree, CLIs, garden?

I'd sit tight or maybe try an app or two of what you want most, to see if you can get anything. An app spree will just give you a bunch of inquiries. If amex isn't pre-qualifying you, then you shouldn't apply. I applied two or three times with them when I couldn't prequal and got denied. Now I pre-qualify after building credit for 6 months.

Re: Advice: App spree, CLIs, garden?

Update:

Applied for and got an Amex Platinum business, NPSL

Also got a Lowe's Amex Business, limit of $3k, asked immediately for a CLI that wasn't approved right away

My NFCU CLI went to $33k

Chase went to $16k

Applied for a NFCU CLOC but they only approved it for $500. I don't keep any money in that checking account, would this be why? Should I call and try to get this increased?

Also applied for a Chase Ink business and a Chase Sapphire preferred, only because when I logged into my account both popped up as pre-qualified offers, but both of those resulted in the 'we'll let you know 7-10 days,' which I assume is a denial.

Should I call Chase Monday or just let it go?

Re: Advice: App spree, CLIs, garden?

Congrats on your recent success. Just because you have no Amex prequals doesn’t mean you won’t be preapproved. My first two cards were approved instantly with no prequals.

As for the CLOC, it’s very possible that having no money with Navy was the reason - they’re very heavily relationship-based. Dump some money in there, run some transactions through regularly, and ask in 6 months for an increase.
