Re: Advice on velocity

Great advice here and best of luck OPSmiley Happy . Just want to add, though an 850 would be great, it really isnt necessary to get the best out of your credit. 750+ you can still be a rock starSmiley Happy

Re: Advice on velocity

OP I think you should wait until your newest account passes 6 months old before you apply for anything since you just got 3.

Then get one at a time when you can meet their SUB spend, every few months, or as your score allows.

Forget building your plans around Chase IMO.. App for cash SUB cards when you can be approved to build a foundation for your credit. Get like 5 of em or so in your first 2 years..

Then when your oldest accounts hit 2 years you will be under 5/24 if you want chase cards. Get the subs on the cash chase cards.

Chase UR points are for the birds IMO. AMEX MR points have gotten better than them and continue to get better than them if you really want points instead of cashback..

Cash SUBs are way better than chase points. Chase points aren't that great, cash is better anyway.

Chase fanboyism " 5/24 5/24" blah..

If you can get 7-10 0 AF cashback cards with subs in your first 3 years, then garden on that and your file will be a beast, or get more subs when you can until you need to plan for a mortgage or something then stop for 6 months or a year before that..
