Re: Affinity FCU Hi5 Q2 2022 categories - GAS, Gardening, Supermarkets

I sent them a message about it this morning. Here's the response.

Good Morning,

Thank you for the email.

The additional bonus points for the second quarter will post by the end of the month of July to your rewards profile as a large lump sum.

Thank you

Re: Affinity FCU Hi5 Q2 2022 categories - GAS, Gardening, Supermarkets

I just spoke with a representative through chat and this is what I was told: "The bonus points post 30 days after the promotion ends."

I made sure we were both speaking about the quarterly category spend. I also asked if this is new since I previously received points much earlier after the first quarter, and I received this response: "No it's in the fine print on our website for the quarterly promotional offers. In the past we did have issues with them posting which could be why they posted on a different date."

So, who knows. I usually like to read fine print, but don't always find it necessary.

Mine too, well sorta. I was expecting 20,680 bonus points, received 17,500. Is there a cap on bonus points?

Yeah same here, my wife should have had 23,820 points and only got 17,500. So that would mean bonus points are capped at $3500 in spending per quarter. Disappointing since I didn't have that much, only 9,970 points so if we would have known I would have picked up the last two Costco shopping trips on my card.

Yup, found it here:

https://www.affinityfcu.com/Credit-Cards/Cashback-Rewards-Visa-Signature.aspx

1. Cardholders will earn 5% cash back (which is equivalent to 5 points for every $1 spent) on up to $3,500 per month in purchases made at Amazon and on all purchases made at bookstores, excluding gift cards.

Looks like I'll need to adjust my spending going forward.

This string is about the Hi5 bonus - not the regular category points. #1 refers to the regular 5% category points. It is unclear from the Affinity website if there is spending a cap on Hi5 - looks like there is, and coincidentally it is the same as the 5% category spending cap described in #1.

Mine bonus points just posted to my account too. An extra $175 worth. This card is great, I wish I had heard about it sooner I just applied for it in February. I'm surprised more people don't have talk about this card on here. 6% or 7% back on bonus categories is awesome.

Oh, we do! People mention it constantly when asked for best gas or groceries card (it's been gas category for 3/4 of this year), and bring it up when the Chase Amazon Prime card is mentioned as an alternative.

This thread has been on the front page of this section of the forums since started, making it pretty visible. And I'm sure once it's locked, there will be a new monster Affinity thread. We definitely fanboi over this card, and it's prolly top 3 favorite cards on the forums!
