If your reported balances are 0 (on any AmEx charge card you currently have -- or the last time your AmEx charge accounts reported), then it shouldn't pose an issue. But, technically, on the older FICO score models, charge card [highest reported] balances are reported as the credit limit.
@Cory88 I have not accepted any of the offers showing (else they wouldn't be there...lol) I also didn't apply for the CR card using these, although I do remember it was listed. I actually did my card application over the phone with a CSR and I did receive an EX HP, not thinking anything about those offers at the time.
In a recent conversation with a CSR about the auto loans, she did mention that Affinity does do SP credit checks each quarter when the pre-approved offers refresh. (which makes sense, to generate the offers) She made it clear to me though, that they use FICO 8 auto loan scoring to do auto loans.... .....ok. And other credit products would require an additional HP from FICO 8 bankcard scoring. So I couldn't use a single HP to apply for an auto loan & a PLOC, for instance, since they use different scoring models. That kinda blows. But I would imagine you could still double-dip on the HP if you applied for a CC and PLOC at the same time, since the same scoring model is used.

Thanks, for all the info people. Good data points.
DCU seams to be the better of the two to deal with when it comes to pre approvals. My big fear is that I have a lot of new student loans (7) this year and that mite make it a no go on a cold app vs a pre approvals (I know their is no guaranties) but mite make it better as they are offering it to me.
@Taurus22 wrote:Typically with Affinity, the pre-approved offers start appearing around approx. 6 months of membership. On the website they are found on the right side of the front page, next to your listed accounts....
Just wanted to comment on this because I started getting preapprovals right away with them. However, I applied for a CC with them within a week of my membership approval, which resulted in a HP, so I think they used that score to show me other preapprovals. Also, those first preapprovals included their other credit cards, however after a few months, the CCs disappeared and all I see is for auto and PLOC. Does anyone else have SP preapprovals for their CCs? I just assumed they require a HP.

I was told my many reps that HP for cold apps and Pre Approvals. When I joined they told me a different story, it was in Jul 2021 so unless something changed lately.

@Cory88-- two threads have been merged given you have asked for similar feedback less than 30 days ago. Please refrain from creating multiple topics on basically the same subject as it can create confusion for the community and is against the TOS. Thanks!
