Aiming high CSP

Okay. So I've been on and off about what I want to do and accomplish with my credit profile. I'm going to aim high here. I want the Chase Sapphire preferred card. Do I need it? Probably not .. Buuut I want it. I currently have 3 credit cards (cap 1 300 CL local CU card 2500cl , I just got Chase SW card a couple months ago with a 2k CL. I've been using that card up! Going to get those 50k points. So how long should I wait before I apply for CSP? I was thinking 6-12 months (my TU is at 672 currently). Your views?

Re: Aiming high CSP

6 months would be good for you to build up your internal score with Chase.

This is assuming your profile is clean.

What do your reports look like?

Where is that TU score from?

Re: Aiming high CSP

I have some old collections (3-4 years old) that I've disputed off. The TU FICO score is from my mortgage lender. I also use credit karma, I know it's not accurate but those scores read TU 698 EX 715. I want to have a sharp plan here. Lol.

Re: Aiming high CSP

My gf has a two or three year att old collection that's paid and she got a SW card with a 5k starting limit. It auto increased to 7.5k.
We put like 14k there the card since august when she got it. And she applied for CSP Thursday and got it. She did also get freedom 2 weeks ago. Anyway that's her experience.

Re: Aiming high CSP

So those collections are no longer showing on any of your reports?

What's your credit history look like? AAoA? Income? Are those cards the only ones you've ever had? INQs? Have you checked Chase Prequal?

Nice! I have I tried it when I opted for the SW card. Nothing came up for me. Im closing on my house on the 26th and I'm going to lay low on applying for any credit. I've came a long way. Like the banks wouldn't loan me a pencil type

Do this first, simply google "Chase prequalify credit card."

Also, if you don't really need the card then don't get one with a $95 annual fee after the first year.

Re: Aiming high CSP

Santi- those collections are off my report. My income is around 46-50k dependjng on overtime. I've had my credit union cc for about 5 years but had some late payments 3 years ago. As of now I have 12 inqs a few of those should be coming off next month.
