Hmmm maybe it's my CU giving Amex a hard time then?! Haha there is no telling but I noticed that for all my payments it's typically 2 days on a weekday or if I pay Friday it won't be until Monday or Tuesday before it shows ....*shrugs*

Is it worth the wait/build? Anyone else have similar experience or positive experience to share?
I have it too, and it's ok. Not the greatest card in the world, but ok. Be sure to check the Amex offers every so often, some really good/useful ones pop up pretty regularly.
The limit will grow with use. Amex just likes to see strong use, regular payments, and PiF over time. My first Amex card started at $1000 as well. Now it's just over 2 years old and at around $12000.
As for the payments, they will be slow at first until you get a payment history with them. After a while they will start clearing same day. Mine often clear a few days before the withdrawal hits my checking account.
EDIT: If you are still unhappy after a year, I believe you can PC it to a BCE. Hopefully someone will correct me if I am mistaken there.

OP, if the correct card has been chosen for your needs, I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that would not be happy with American Express. It is my personal opinion that there isn't anyone in the game that's better than AMEX as they say in boxing "pound for pound". In your case, you've selected the Cash Magnet - painfully similar to the freedom unlimited; and consequently probably not the best choice. There are always other factors but there is clearly a redundancy issue here.
I'm a little confused by the payment posting issue. I had my AMEX a month prior to yours, and every payment I've ever made has instantly increased my credit line and the actual payment post to my AMEX account in 24 hours. I have had a Platinum Card via Corporate Account for many years and it's the same deal.
I echo what others have said here. Give it a little time. Becoming a member of this very unique club is definitely a privilege. Not everyone can get in, and there are many who is on the infamous blacklist who'd trade all their cards just to get back in. 😂
Will do
@jdbkiang I wanted cards with good cash back ratings and higher CLI that I saw to start building my AAoA after my Mortgage Approval (I just recently got) I plan to garden for a couple years and wanted to pick which cards I got wisely to help me while I was gardening I hope to have them in the upper k hopefully 5 digit CL by the time the two years is up so I can get my dream car!
That is my goal thus far.
@redpat LOLOLOLOL that made my day thanks XD
