Just got an email for $50 back after spending $1000 on a new authorized user's card within 6 months. I'll just add my wife and get that extra 5% on $1000.
I also received this offer on my BCP.
Awesome . . . Go for it . . . Small $-dollars-$ add up, too!!!
Amex doesn't backdate AU reporting, so you'll be adding a new account to your wife's report w/ regards to such things as scorecard assignment and 5/24. Just fyi, if you weren't already aware of it.
Nice hookup! Sounds like an easy $50 for the two of you.
Nice! Thank you for sharing 😊

Oops. That's not so good for the mortgage we're currently working towards haha
Not a bad offer at all considering I spend that just on groceries alone in shorter span!
Now to go see if i have the same offer.

I called to see if canceling the AU card would stop it from reporting. AmEx's credit people said it would still report with the date opened as of 6/3/21 but would appear as a closed account. I think AmEx reports after 1-2 statements.
Does anyone know if having a closed account 6/3/21 on my wife's credit report would switch her to the scorecard with a new account? I.e. if it's closed, does it still get counted as a recent new account?
I figured it would give her a new account and I might as well just keep the card open for the $50... if there's any hit towards our mortgage loan process I'll be kicking myself for years.
