Re: Amazon Card Question

My card grew from an entry $1000 (might have been $2000) to $8000 in a little over a year. That said it's been "stuck" at $8000 for over 2 years but since that's more than enough I have not bothered to call. I also recently got approved for the Chase version with a $5k SL - also enough, especially since there is no 0% extended financing on the Chase version.

You can try now, but it'll grow quickly if you are willing to wait.

Re: Amazon Card Question

Synchrony CLI requests are always TransUnion and almost always a soft pull. You're almost always guaranteed better luck with calling/chatting with Credit Solutions vs. Luv button.

Some people get CLI at activation...others have to wait until their scores have reached appropriate threshholds. Synch store cards seem really dependent on where your TU score is.

Capital One Savor: $6,000; Mission Lane: $4,500; PenFed Power Cash Rewards: $3,500; Nordstrom Visa: $3,300; Capital One: $2,550

Store/Other: Care Credit $7,500; Kohls $2,500; Home Depot: $1,500; Amazon: $1,000; Target: $1,100; LOFT: $700

That's awesome!  Can I ask what bureau and what your score was?

They pulled TU, which is at 650, FICO 8.

Re: Amazon Card Question

I was approved July 2015 with $800 SL

Have yet to receive an increase. Have called in twice. Nada.

It has been around 90% maxed out, though. Smiley Happy

Re: Amazon Card Question

Just call them now and ask for an increase. I got approved for $10k last year, called in and asked for more so they gave me $15k. Doesn't hurt to ask and it's not a HP!

Re: Amazon Card Question

I was approved in November for the base store card with a $800 CL, and upgraded to Prime in March. I've tried twice so far, in March and May, for a CLI but have been turned down both times. They put down a laundry list of reasons on the letters but I have been advised that what Synchrony really cares about when it comes to CLI's is your TU score. This has consistently been some 30 or so points lower than my EQ and EX since I seriously started monitoring my FICO's on a regular basis; I believe that this is in large part due to an error that TU made in my credit report where they failed to properly list a credit card that had been closed in bankruptcy with its date of closing (in the detailed report, it does show as being closed in BK) so that it still shows up as open in SP's, thus throwing the accuracy of the report off; that account does display properly as closed in all respects in EQ and EX soft pulls. I sent a dispute report to TU asking them to correct this a couple of weeks ago, so hopefully that will be fixed soon. In any case, I am informed that Synchrony wants to see TU scores of at least 650 before they'll consider granting a CLI.

Re: Amazon Card Question

Hello,

I applied for the card about a 7-10 days ago. It was a bit odd as I first got a notification that I will be notified by letter within the next 30 days or so. 2 days later I called the atomated line to check the status of the application and I got a message that my application was under review and that I will receive a letter in the next 7 days. Well today I got the letter and it said that they received an application with my name and social security with an application for a Amazon.com Visa Signature and that they needed to verify that the application was mine. I called the number, and were ask a series of 5 security questions, weird thing is that they didnt provide me any answers for me to choose from, I had to provide the answers to their questions. After that, she placed me on hold and came back within 2 minutes. While I was waiting I got my notification from my CR Monitoring and the welcome email from Chase and Amazon. So she came back and said congratulations I was approved with a SL of $5K and that I will get my card in the mail and so on...

When I opened my email I noticed that the CL in the email is actually a whole lot higher than what she mentioned over the phone. So which one is the actual CL? I guess I'll have to wait for the card and find out.

Edit: I checked my Amazon account and there it is, my $50 Gift Card! Already loaded and ready to use on my account. Now, that's nice!

Re: Amazon Card Question

$5K is the standard they send by e-mail or display on the approval screen if you're instantly approved.  When you login you'll see your real CL.  Typically they top out at 10K on the Amazon card.  So, whichever was higher is most likely what your real CL is.
