No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Avoiding any larger-scale politics around it in keeping with TOS, the concept that offering a secured card to people who can't qualify for a non-secured card is somehow a bad thing is absurd. If that idea was extended across the entire credit marketplace, it would be MUCH harder for people with bad credit to build good credit in a year or two. You'd be looking at more like maybe five years instead of 1-2 years, in many cases. This is an idea based on what feels good to an uninformed person, not something that actually makes sense. I was very excited about the idea of getting an Amazon secured card and getting a 5% discount on the store I shop at the most, even with my very thin credit at the time. (Then, to my surprise, I got the unsecured card instead ... even better, but I'd have been happy with the secured card then.)
@Anonymous I just checked her account. New statement cut, but it's still showing as credit builder.
For anyone that's curious, despite online showing her negative, none of statements showed that. They showed the balance and available credit as if she had access to it

I inquired about upgrading to the unsecured Card through their online messaging portal. Got a rejection letter about 2 days later.

Well, that's unfortunate. My mother's card hasn't unsecured yet. I doubt it will, but it hasn't been 30 days yet, so we'll see.

It's the 5% cash back on all amazon purchases that got me. That's huge. Too bad can only get regular card now.
Just wanted to let everyone know mine graduated today!!!!!
