@Beast26 I do fancy my Chase Amazon Prime Visa (I have the Synchrony version - got it first before Chase warmed up to me). Like you I spend a lot on Amazon. And for the things I can't get from Amazon I usually can find a gift card for said place. Amazon pays out at 5% on gift cards so it's a win/win honestly. If I were you I'd look at the Synchrony/Chase Amazon card rather than the Flex.
I could see myself getting good value from Flex in the first 2 years being that I haven't gotten my category cards yet. The $200 bonus is the most appealing thing about it and in a year I will PC my miles into the 5% discover. I really don't need the flex after year 1 but in the first year it would be very useful.
You are definitely right about that. I am seeing both sides and both valid points. I could get flex with sync amazon, but I want that "chase visa metallic" looking card. I know that's superficial lol but it's something I was considering too.

LOL!...We all have our reasons. Aesthetics is something folks consider. I always tease that if a lender wants to push a card, regardless of how good or bad it is, all they need to do is make that sucker weigh as much as the old Ritz Carlton card and folks would gobble it up. I also wonder if Amex could return the Gold Card back to the cheap plastic of the old PRG and the Platinum to the cheap plastic that it used to be, would folks still like it?
Aesthetics can influence a decision on whether or not to get a card like it has with me.

Yes, but in some "objective" sense, it really shouldn't! There are a wide range of cards with very different value propositions, and looks shouldn't be part of the equation. While the same reasoning could be said of choosing a car, house, or partner, the cc is such a small thing, and if used in a mobile wallet, gets hardly any viewing time by others or even you (unless you spend hours a day gazing lovingly at your super-special-color-oh-so-heavy-super-kryptonite-card, in which case bad financial choices might be the least of your problems!)
Curious, you don't travel but have the Discover It Miles?
If your main shopping is Walmart why not get the Walmart card?
As for Chase FF, not sure of the categories but the regular Freedon has the 5% at Walmart right now. And again not familiar with their rotating cats or if Walmart happens often enough to see value from it.
If you're tyeing to decide between A or B maybe find out which one you shop at most and that will be your answer for now. You can always app your second choice later.

There is nothing travel related about the Discover IT Miles, despite their marketing. 3% cashback first year, 1.5% after, redeem for cash at the same rate as for travel. There used to be some Wifi flight bonus ($30 per year?) but not sure that still exists.
@Beast26 wrote:Which card should I get? I'm not a points person and I don't travel. I only seek cashback. My delimma is that If I get the Chase Freedom Flex I would have to wait about 2 years to get the Chase Amazon Prime. I spend about $150+ per month on Amazon.
For groceries I primarily shop at Walmart, so the 5% groceries wouldn't help much. I may spend about $50 at Publix per month. I could maybe buy Amazon gift cards from Publix on the chase but I heard that is seen as shady in the credit card world. I would make more money in the first year with the Chase Freedom Flex due to the $200 signups bonus over the Amazon $100 gift card bonus. But it's so uncertain how much I would make with chase freedom flex due to rotating categories I wouldn't know how to predict what I can make.
Or I could get the Freedom Flex and settle for the Amazon Prime Store Card from synchrony and call it a day.
I am surprised nobody is questioning the original premise in bold. Why would you have to wait almost two years to apply for the Chase Amazon Prime? Did you very recently apply for 4 credit cards putting you at 4/24? It seems odd for you to say that with only 3 credit cards listed in your signature.
Also, I am very confused with the listed AAOA in your signature. Either I am understanding incorrectly (entirely possible) or you think you have a very different AAOA for each credit bureau. That's not how that works.
All of this goes by the wayside if you simply haven't updated your signature in a very long time @Beast26 .
