No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Synchrony can be a little squirrelly on credit lines (read the 80 bazillion complaint threads about shutdowns to get an idea), that being said the myFICO maximizer who's trying to jack their credit limits to six digits isn't a typical customer. Chase is probably better (but shutdowns happen there too).
Sometimes Chase does special stuff for their cardholders Synchrony won't do. But if your requirements are pretty vanilla and you're not interested in 5/24 games (raises hand) the Store card is fine.
Yes.
The Sync card is just a line of credit which Amazon honors a 5% cash back on (not sync).
The CC is a Chase card visa with all the normal perks plus:
5% cash back on Amazon.com and Whole Foods purchases
2% back on restaurant, gas station and drugstore purchases
1% back on all other purchases
Which gives it a decent 2% back in 3 categories. I put it on par with Wells Fargo Active Cash 2% card in spending power.
Ouch sorry I forgot how formatting worked on this forum.

Apologies if there’s a thread on this already; I did a search and didn’t find anything. I currently have the Synchrony Amazon Prime store card and I was curious if there’s any big advantage to obtaining the signature Visa card if I would only use it for Amazon purchases? I’m not sure it’s worth the HP since I wouldn’t use it except for 5% back on Amazon purchases which I already have access to via the store card. I get other types of rewards through a different card that I use as a daily driver. Thanks all.
If you're only going to use it for Amazon purchases as you said for sure and you're happy with your current CL, or CLI's with the Store card. Then no you don't need it and there's no benefit of having it based on that. If you're under 5/24 and want a Chase card and have the scores and history to secure one. Then I'd get a true Chase card and not a Co-Branded one.

Since you're happy with your daily driver, I don't see any reason at all to switch. The Amazon Prime Store card gives you 5% off not only at Amazon but also Whole Foods. Your DD picks up the slack for other categories and benefits, right?, so why bother applying for the Chase verson? I wouldn't.
