I must obviously have misread the terms, as I had been under the impression that they'd charge me on a monthly basis.
You can choose either option - the selection is made not on the card, but from within your Amazon account at this link. If you change to monthly immediately they should refund the annual fee and charge the monthly one.
Note: it is about $30 per year more expensive to pay under the monthly option
Just to add my two cents, Ive had my amazon store card for almost a year, and had no problems at all. I was orginally given a 2k credit line and called and increased it to 6k. Promotional offers and statement credits have been flawless so far.

Yes, I see that. Hmmm. I'm really not sure I want to pay $32.88 more per year just to have the illusory benefit of paying "less" per month. I'm just annoyed at myself mostly, I think, for not having read the terms more carefully. May as well get on with it and start watching "The Man in the High Castle" to justify that money.
No problems my so far...
Love being amazon prime member..
Love zero interest deals, but don't get caught not paying it off before the expiration date. I usually end up paying $100 each of the paydays the last few months of 1 year deals just to be sure not to get caught
use it, ask for CLI's and it should grow, I think mine started at $600, and is now $5,900 4 and 1/2 years later, they have denied my CLI's for the last year or so, but honestly my CL is high enough to meet my spend and I don't feel the need to call the back door number yet.
Haven't had any problems with the amazon store card at all. Didn't use it for some time and got $600 CLI. I use my Chase amazon as I like saving up points than a statement credit - though honestly, it doesn't really matter either way. One thing that is great that the card *Sync amazon* has is sometimes they'll have offers to give 10% cash back on certain purchases on amazon. I think a month ago it was instruments for 10% back. Not too shabby!
