I was just approved for an Amazon Store Card with a limit of $600. Can this card be converted to an Amazon Visa or will I have to submit a separate application for that one?
Was also approved for HHgregg $2,500 and Kay Jewelers $1,500.
Amazon Store = GE Capital Retail Bank
Amazon Visa = Chase Bank USA
You would need to apply for the card, which means new opening date, etc. Perhaps when the agreement between one ends, Amazon will offer both a store and Visa card from the same issuer. That would be nice for upgrade purposes.

GE does do Visa upgrade for other retailers so it's certainly a possibility but I imagine there is a good financial incentive for them to go with Chase to start with so I wouldn't hold my breath on it happening.
Separate application as they are from two different issuers. I have both and personally for shopping on Amazon I prefer the store card because I can get the 0% for 6 months deal. I cannot get that using the Amazon Visa.
