This account has got to be over 8 months I believe, I have requested increase online 2, both instantly denials. is it because I have never really charged more than like a $100 on it? I don't know what they expect me to do with a $500 CL on Amazon!
Anyone else actually have a nice CL with this card or is it like so many GE cards it just sits there.
I have an $800 one and I'm looking at 4th statement this month so going to hit the luv button right after that. This thread has just made me sad though. ![]()
This is like my JC Penney's card....just won't budge :-/ Sitting at $400
In January I will have had mine for 2 years. I got the ShopNBC Mastercard a couple of weeks later. Both started with a $2,000 limit and they now both sit at $5,000. The Amazon card is approved for an increase about every 4 months and the couple of times it has been denied, the reason was insufficient time at current limit. The ShopNBC card seems to take a couple of months longer to qualify for an increase. They have never done a hard inquiry and I'm not even sure they do a soft, I thought it might be based on time and usage but I don't know for sure. I've never checked the softs on TU, so it is possible that they check it, but the answer is given so quickly that I'm not sure they have time.
Don't give up, use the cards and keep trying. I've had absolutely no problems with either account although I have read many posts from people who have.
I could never get the CLI on my JC Penney card even thought other GE cards I was able to get CLI every 4 months. As per the Amazon card GE rejected my application.
I was given 1200.00 cl when I applied in July, so I haven't tried to request one. I was waiting until December to ..hope it works at that time.
I always got denied credit line increases from JCPenneys whenever I clicked the Request Increase button. They gave me one on their own after I had all but given up on them for the remainder of the year.
