It looks new as I always got the pop up for the store card (and Chase Visa) and there was nothing last week ...just the 20$ (60$) sign up bonus.
I would get the 4% offer and do not have the card - wonder if this is a temporary thing or if finally the store card will actually get some benefits ? Well with having the Sallie Mae now I do not need it anymore but without I would have applied ![]()

According to the fine print on my offer (emphasis near end added):
2. 5% Back Offer: 5% Back offer and Special Financing offers cannot be combined on each purchase. If your purchase is $149 or more, and is not a 1-click or phone purchase, you will have the option to select the offer you would like to apply to your purchase. 1-click and phone purchases of $149 or more will automatically receive special financing. For all purchases less than $149, 5% Back will be automatically applied. Offers subject to credit approval. 5% Back on purchases made with your Amazon.com Store Card is not applied at time of purchase, it will be paid as a statement credit to your account. Please allow up to two billing cycles for your credit to post to your account. Account must remain open, be in good standing and not become delinquent at the time the credit is posted to your account. Items sold on Amazon.com by third-party sellers qualify for these offers. We reserve the right to alter or discontinue the terms of these offers at any time.
@eagle2013 wrote:Can we confirm if the 3-5% cash back is perpetual 'purchases' or just for once purchase? The terms and conditions specifically say 'purchases' under $149 are automatically credited, but it isn't too clear.
The word purchases is plural (i.e. more than one).

I coincidentally applied today before I knew about the 5% cashback deal. Yes they offered it to me, plus $20 off instantly. Now $700 in credit richer! Bought a shower gift for a friend and a couple of things I needed for the kitchen. I'm also a Prime member and a former Amazon employee if that helps at all, and though I purchase infrequently - maybe 1-2 items per month - last month I made a bunch of kindle and other purchases for my son's birthday. So maybe I fell into their frequent shopper targeting segment (yes that exists of course!).
In case anyone's curious they also have "creditworthiness" targeting segments where they attempt to ascertain who's creditworthy enough to even be shown certain card offers from their financial services advertisers. I looked myself up though and found I was in the top creditworthiness bucket so that shows how much they know hahaha! I think it's based loosely on zip code and past purchase behavior.
Starting Score: 560I applied a couple weeks ago for the 5%. It made sense since US Bank doesn't operate around here, and I just got an Arrival meaning no Sallie Mae for 6+ months. It took a couple days to fully setup but now when I'm logged in most Amazon pages show a little 5% reminder and it shows up on top of my shopping cart too - looks like something they're really pushing and integrating.
Like GE's website so far, no hassle really to set up, and the option to have big purchases qualify for 6-12 month financing is useful if I want to decline the 5%. Overall very pleased. The card has bad reviews on the Amazon marketplace but many of those are by those who could use some advice from this website. Would never think of carrying a balance at 25.99% anyway.
Don't know how they pick 3, 4 or 5% but my info is Amazon member 6 years, Prime for 2, 150-250 orders yearly average last 3 years. TU pull, FICO 737, CL $2200. Don't know if they'll keep the 5% around for a long time either, but I sure hope so.

No 5% offer for me. I don't use the Amazon store card all that much...usually charge less than $50 every few months and then PIF. Most purchases go on other cards for cash back.
