Amazon Store card?

I had this card since about August and i thought it was a Credit card? I recently got declined for the Chase Freedom card and thus checked my report and the card is said to be a charge card. I thought it was a Credit card since it does have a APR of 24.99% and you can finance stuff you buy from there over a certain amount.

Re: Amazon Store card?

What were the reasons for denial?
Amazon is a charge card, like most store cards. Having an APR of 24.98% doesn't change it to a national bank or credit card - which I assume maybe one if the reasons for Chase's denial.

Chase's denial was not enough accounts opened long enough to establish a credit history ( my First was in June of this year ) and i only have 3 cards. I have my discover it card ($750 CL) which i apped in June, Amazon Store card ( $400 CL) which i apped in August  and my brand new Amex Blue cash card ($1,000 CL) which i apped for last Wednesday. I honestly figured i was going to be declined but i would like to get the chase card since A) I want a Visa/Mastercard and B)  I been a chase customer for about 6 years now for a checking account which makes it easier.

Re: Amazon Store card?

Chase usually wants an established rev cc history. They consider national bank cards as revolving. You should be in a better position in 3-4 months.

IMO, garden the newly acquired tradelines and you can always reapply in another 6 months for the Chase Freedom to provide a more optimal chance for approval and better terms.

i might just end up gardening for about a year i guess actually ... While i am happy with my Discover it card and my new Amex with a combined $1750 CL  there is a few places where i could only use Visa/Mastercards which i ended up using my Chase Debit card instead ( I prefer using Credit )
