Amazon.com Chase Visa Denial

Applied for the Amazon.com Chase Visa last night, said needed further processing. Called backdoor number this morning and said I had too many inquiries this year. I had 7 new inquiries this year. UTI is 35%. Dont have FICO Scores only have CreditKarma TU score is 641. Not sure who they pulled. 12 accounts. 2 high balance cards which is a TV from Best Buy financed with a 0% interest offer and a Ring purchase from Littman Jewelers with the same thing 0% interest offer. Should I try to call back again and tell them is there any way to approve me besides the inquiries? Or what should I say?

Re: Amazon.com Chase Visa Denial

I would probably try one more time and ask them who they pulled and what the score was while your at it.

I think being declined just because of INQ is just stupid but that's just my opinion and probably because I have a boat load of them!

Not sure, but I do know that they are Inquiry senistive. The are an Experian puller in CA from my experience.

Thats probably were the denial comes! I believe lately Chase has been wanting 2-3 years of history I believe someone posted and being under 21, they are going to be concerned that you can actually pay this

I was denied in May 2010, and have plenty of revolving credit...some new at that juncture, and 15 inquiries (Experian), and EQ (5), and TU (7 or 8). I was infored that I was denied due to the inquiries. That amount (30) on a single CR is A LOT. Slow down, it will bring up some red flags which may get you denied for CC's that you may get w/o all the inquiries. Plus, the new CC laws require anyone under 21 to have a co-signer. Many of the front-line reps are just that - REPS. Search the boards here and find cards which would actuallyhelp you, instead of applying for cards which may deny you in the first place (age), and have a wasted inquiry at that.

When I applied for Chase Freedom (and was denied), they told me that my 3 year, 5  month average age was by far too young. I had a FICO TU of 762 at the time and one (yes, one!) other inquiry. Utilization around 5%, overall credit at the time $20,000, no bad accounts.I don't know if the Amazon Chase is harder or easier to get than the Freedom, but it doesn't matter. Their decisions can be willy-nilly.
