Amazon store card zero interest question

I was recently recently approved for an Amazon store card, and plan on using it for Xmas shopping as it has no interest for a year on orders over $499 placed before December 31, 2014. Does anyone know if that applies to all orders placed by then, or just the first? I didn't want to use it to get something small just to find out I can't get the no interest on the big purchase. I tried asking Amazon's credit department and they wouldn't give an answer.

Check cardholder agreement but it should apply to any order over $499

Re: Amazon store card zero interest question

It has been my experience with Amazon that to get the promotional 0% interest, if you are wanting to order multiple items to total $499 you would need to order them all together in one order.

I know that we ordered several items at one time that equalled over $149, so we ended up with that order on the promotional rate, I think it was 6 months. Other things we ordered later were not, and we were charged the interest.

But I don't think it's just the first order, I think it's any order over $499 until Dec 31. That's the way I interpreted it anyway.

Hope this helps.

Re: Amazon store card zero interest question

Each individual order placed has to be at least $499--IOW, you can order any number of items and get the financing as long as they are all placed at the same time.  I'm pretty sure I've made more than one purchase with special financing on different dates.  You might want to check and be sure the payments are applied in the order you expect--i.e., to the promotion that expires first.  I believe that's how it works, but you might want to double check that.

Chase Sapphire Preferred $32k; CapitalOne Venture $30k; Chase Slate $30k; Barclaycard Arrival Plus $25k; Wells Fargo Visa $25k; Amex EveryDay $25k; Barclaycard Ring $15.5k; Lowes $10k; Barclaycard Apple Financing $9.5k; Best Buy $7k; Chase Amazon Rewards Visa $6.5k; misc. store cards

The entire order has to total over $499 to get the offer (FWIW, I was informed that if Amazon decided to split the order, the offer still applies so long as you placed it all at once).   If you decided to do a subsequent order of over $499, that should also get the special financing rate.   It'll show in your shopping cart.

Re: Amazon store card zero interest question

Ok, that's what I figured. I wanted to get something small on it before the Xmas just so I could get some activity on it after all the stories about lowering CL and denying CLI due to inactivity. I just didn't want to spend $40 then pay interest on the big order for it. Much appreciated.
