I have had an american express delta airlines card for over 3 years now. When i first got it, my limit was $750, I have grown it to now a $14,500 limit. I decided I could make better use of a cash back card instead of miles, I applied just now for the blue cash everyday, because of some of the benefits that it comes with. It came with a $1,000 limit to start. Is this normal for them to start everyone with a low limit? When i forst got the delta miles card, my scores were around 660-670, with a bankruptcy and charge-offs. Currently though, my Equifax score is 812, Experian is 782, transunion i'm not sure but it has to be close to the same as the other. No lates, no charge offs, no bankruptcy shwing anymore, a completely clean reports. No debt except a $265 a month auto loan that started at about $13,000 and now paid down to $4,000. Income $105,500
I got an amex hilton card with a $1000 starting limit. This was just after getting a cli on bce to $27000. I think I had reached my total limit with amex that month. At 91 days, they approved a cli to $3000. At 6 months I plan on asking for $9000.
That seems pretty low for those stats, not sure what would have triggered it. I would just spend on it for a few months and I'm sure they'll raise it. Maybe try paying the balance off twice a month. I had an amex biz plat for around 8 months or so before i asked for a bce, and I used to pay the plat off every week since it was set to intra-period weekly pay. Maybe amex likes this type of liability recapture since they started my bce limit out in the 30s.

A 1k limit at AMEX is basically saying you barely got in at all. You'll need to use the card and pay it off regularly while you wait the 91 days and then ask for a CLI and hope for the best. I can say that AMEX loves people that spend/pay, the faster you pay it off the more they like you and whatever you do don't carry a balance month to month. It's pretty easy to grow AMEX limits unless you have bad prior history with them which doesn't seem to be your problem luckily. Also if you need a higher limit you can move some of the limit from your Delta card onto the BCE for now. You can move AMEX limits every 30 days and the only restriction is no Business to Personal.

Amex has transfer limit between cards option. It now only allows personal to personal, biz to biz.
I started with just a $2k limit on mine and it has grown easily with use. They seem to like a lot of useage and paying it off.
Use it. It will grow.
Congrats! 🎉
