Apologies if a similar question has been asked before. I was approved for an Amex Everyday card but with a limit of just 2000( not sure why so less, have cards thats have limits greater than 15k) last month. I already have a blue cash preferred with a limit of 6000 which I would be eligible to request for a 3xCLI the end of this month. If approved, I wanted to move some of the limit to the new everyday card so that I can make use of that 0% intro apr period. How soon after I request the cli would I be eligible to move my limits across the cards?
As soon as its approved and you can see it in your online, you can request the xfer online as well.
If approved, anytime you wants you can do balance transfer. I would say instant. 👍
sorry should have been more clearer. I was asking about moving my credit limit rather than balances to the new card so that i have higher limit to use from my new card and pay over time.

That is what i thought you meant. You can move limits around in your online acct once your CLI is approved and shown on your acct.
thanks for the clarification. Hopefully it works as planned :-)
Thats what i plan to do. move all my CL to the card i'll use the most. ask for a 3x, and move back a little bit to each card with my main card having the majority of it.
Yes, when you get your possible 3X CLI on the BCE. You can then request a portion of the CL, all but $1K to be moved to the ED card.

BCE/ED can go as low as 500, so i'll move all that i can. The plan is once i get the spend bonus paid off, i'm going to move all of it to the ED and ask for the 3x on that card, then i'll move limits around accordingly
I recently got the ED, and was planning to move all but the minimum from my BCE to it. Then close BCE. But then they debut that darn Magnet card! So I've been contemplating PCing to that. Just got my 12 month anniversary email from Amex a couple days ago for my BCE.
Couple days ago I tried to move some from my Delta to the ED, but encountered an error and was told to try back later. So I did it again the next day and got an email message. Then noticed in the CL area that the amounts had already been changed to the amounts I wanted.
Last time I moved CL, I got an email about it. So i don't know what heppnd this time. weird..
I'm just curious what the message coming is going to be about.
