I just picked up an amex plat card so I need to figure out how to use the credits. Do they reset based on the calendar year or cardmember year? Meaning since I got the card in Feb will I be able to get the credit again in Jan before cancelling if I decide not to renew?

- Yes. Calendar year so you can double dip before anniversary date of opening. Congrats on the Plat! For GC like mentioned earlier head over to flyer talk. The wealth of DP's there for each and every card issuer and airline is immense and overwhelming at first but absolutely 110% worth the flight over. Best of luck

Thanks. I literally just receeived the card today. Last time I had a plat it was plastic so I had forgotten they switched to metal cards. Its a bit hefty. Another feature I just noticed is that when I checked my spending power for an upcoming purchase not only did it tell me that my purchase would be approved but it actually told me what my internal limit is, which is different from the last time I bothered to check my spending limits on a charge card.
