Amex App Question

Hey guys, I have my eye on the blue cash everyday from amex.  A month ago, I got approved for the chase sapphire preferred and afterwards was feeling brave and applied for the bce and was denied.   They pulled experian and I've since confirmed it was a soft pull.  I have my experian and transunion frozen since they both have 2 negative accounts still reporting that I have months disputing.  I have asked every lender I've applied with(Amex, Chase twice, Barclays) to pull my Equifax and all have.  What I am thinking to do, is to not login to the amex site and apply.  Then I can call in afterwards and request they pull Equifax without mentioning I'm currently a Zync cardholder.  Thoughts ???  Thanks for any and all feedback.

In my wallet: Amex Platinum NPSL, Amex Everyday Preferred $15,000, Amex Starwood $10,000, Chase Freedom Visa Signature $10,000, Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa Signature $15,000, Chase Ink Plus Visa Signature $5000 Barclaycard Arrival Plus MasterCard World Elite $10,000, Cap One Quicksilver MasterCard $6000, Citi Prestige World Elite MasterCard $10,000, Citi Forward Visa $6900, Citi Premier World Elite MasterCard $5,800, Discover IT $8500

Re: Amex App Question

Amex pulled two bureaus for me. They will probably deny you if they can only pull Equifax since, in my experience, they don't use Equifax all that much.

Seems like a lot of work and little patience. How about let your chase and barclays age a bit and then re-apply for the BCE in six months?

They will know you're an AMEX customer. Come on dude. There are ways to get around things, but trying to get around the fact that you're a Zync member with your shenanigans sounds like something Laurel and Hardy would attempt.

You have a better chance of doing this the legit way - Apply for the standard Green charge card. You'll be approved. Wait a year and you'll have your BCE.

Re: Amex App Question

The green doesn't interest me.  I'd rather keep the Zync and pay the 25 dollar AF versus a 95 dollar AF on the green.  Also I've requested lenders pull my Equifax because its the cleanest of my three.  The cards I own(chase freedom, chase sapphire preferred, amex zync, barclay reward mc) I have had since August.

Re: Amex App Question

The green AF is waived for the first year. You can get it, hold onto it for a year and convert it to a BCE before your annual fee is due.

Re: Amex App Question

I thought you could not convert the green to the bce since the green is a charge card and the other a revolver.  Am I mistaken ???

Re: Amex App Question

Probably right, but I bet you could app for the Revolver after 11.5 months and be approved. Then close the green.

Re: Amex App Question

So why do you think I should apply for the green ???  I'm already in with Amex since I've had a Zync since August 2012, so is it because it would look better to have the green coupled with the Zync ???

Re: Amex App Question

I am not sure why you would want to app for a second charge card...

Re: Amex App Question

I would think just having the Zync is enough.  My experian fico according to Amex a couple months back was 645.  I still have two negative accounts from years ago reporting on them.  One falls off next year, the other 3 years from now.  My thinking was well if I can get in with them maybe that will help my chances, and I was approved for the Zync(npsl) almost 6 months ago.  I also own a chase freedom(1500cl), barclays rewards mastercard(1500cl), and chase sapphire preferred(5000cl).

Re: Amex App Question

Why not try to recon the BCE decline before contriving any plans???
