Yeah I read it wrong they said if they would need to do a hard pull they would let me know before hand. So I went with it anyway having the account for close to 2 months now. Got declined B) oh well lol.
Discover default is no CLI for the first 90 days.... there's an exception though and that's if you see an AUTO CLI between 60-90 days then hit that button immediately to collect the rest of your increase. Also, some savvy people also follow up with a call for a double dip to 800-347-4856.
So, maybe when you go back to hit up AMEX try Discover again with the plan to call as a follow up again to get double the luv.
Austinguy, I've never heard of the follow up call. So this would essentially be a triple CLI? First auto, then requested (say the next day) and then a call the same day after receiving the requested one online? If that's the case, I may have left money on the table a few months back when I got my first auto+manual CLI combo.
I can't remember who first reported the follow up call but, I'm pretty sure they didn't mention after the auto but, deifnitely do a follow up after each CLI and double their $500 to a $1000 with a quick call the same day.
IIRC you haven't had the card long enough to have luck kick in yet.
You call them and ask them for a CLI and they say oh it looks ilke you're approved for $xxxx and you say I'll take it.
Apparently it's a loophole in the system where the CLI being available over the phone doesn't clear until 2AM PST when the backend refreshes from the days transactions. The computer doesn't see the online bump until the next day which allows the CSR to push through one even though you just got one. There hasn't been too much of this seen around here but I've seen a few posts from different people saying it has been working.
Interesting. So basically request your online CLI, you get the 2 day message then in a day or so you notice your CL increased on the account... then immediately call them up and act like you never did an online CLI request and request it over the phone? Wouldn't they see that you have a CLI request pending already? Or does this not stand a chance with the 2 day message, only instant approvals?
