Re: Amex Backdating - Authorized User(Success story)

I'm just so excited. My longest TL is under 2 years old. So with this backdating to 2007, that's going to help me out HUGE!

I can't wait for it to report!

It definitely will! I feel the exact same way. My oldest TL is only 3 years, so this will definitely help me out as well. Plus, I plan on adding another Amex on Jan of 2015 to get the maximum increase of AAOA due to backdating.

Yes AU can be backdated to MSD, of the original card member. My wifes was backdated to my 1994 MSD. It just depends on who you get. Bottom like does not matter, b/c AU accounts only report to when they were opeded not what MSD says.

Re: Amex Backdating - Authorized User(Success story)

There not going to just backdate him to your date,unlesss you tell them he was an AU in 1990. Whick would be a lie,so I would not do that. Usually a spouse thats an AU can ask to match there spouses MSD. They usualy do that, bu not a nephew.

Re: Amex Backdating - Authorized User(Success story)

If you have alot of new credit adding a 2007 backdate wont do much to your AAOA. Maybe a year. Mine with two 20 yr backdates only takes me from 1.4 years to 3 years. Thats 2 Amex cards backdated to 1994. One guy on another message board with 4 cards backdated to 1993 went frm 2yrs to 5 yrs. So it helps, but you may want to add another card or two down the road. Try an aaoa calculator and see what you get.

Yes, very true. But it will have a positive affect nonetheless. And yeah, I just calculate it by hand since AAOA is: (the sum of months that all your accounts have been open for)/(total number of accounts). Well, not really by hand since I coded a script to do it for me to show me floating point accuracy lol.

Re: Amex Backdating - Authorized User(Success story)

I'm glad everyone is on the same page now.  When I read that someone is 19 yrs old and has requested a MSD from 10 years ago it makes me cringe.  Corporations are getting tighter and more limited with their customers services these days.  When people abuse these last remaining opportunities it makes it difficult for others to get a fair chance.

Plz folks let's not abuse this for others.

Discover IT $19,000 == 12/2013
AMEX 12/2013 ---BCP $12,000 === BC $23,000 ----- 04/2014
CHASE SLATE $5,700 === 12/2013
BoA 123 $6000 === 12/2013
Barclay Rewards $1500 == 12/2013
