Amex CLI - Hard or Soft pull?

Hi,

Anyone know if the CLI is a Hard pull or a Soft pull?  I was approved for my first AMEX (BCE) early April - completely forgot about the 3xCLI until now.  From what I've read on the forums, I could have requested it as soon as I got the card... Smiley Sad

Couldn't find any info on the pulls though.  I could possibly just be blind.  I'll request only if it's a Soft pull... I can put it off till later if not;  still gardening Smiley Tongue

Sidenote (Bonus Question!):  I applied for the Chase Marriott card within 15-min of applying for the AMEX BCE.  Both were approved;  however, only Chase popped up on my credit reports in May.  Still no sign of AMEX reporting.  Should I call, or is this lengthy delay normal?

Thanks!

I don't want to give you wrong information on your first question, because I'm honestly not sure. But I can chime in on the second one: I've heard Amex takes quite a while to report. I read one member didn't see their Amex acct on their CR for like 2 months lol.

Of course I would find the entire thread and sticky about the Amex 3xCLI  AFTER  posting... Sorry.  Good to know that it's still up to date.

It's a SP and you're right, you must be blind :-). Amex can take awhile to report, sometimes not until 2 statements have posted.

Re: Amex CLI - Hard or Soft pull?

I've gotten a few cards the last two months and Amex is by far the longest to report. In fact, my first card is almost 2 month's old and is still not showing yet. Chase was very quick, while Cap One was slower, but way faster than Amex.
Amex CL increases are definitely soft pulls.

Try Googling AmEx CLI.  As of this post anyway, it's the first hit.  Definitely don't overlook FAQ's, stickies and Google.  If any discussion forum site's search feature isn't working for you then try a site-restricted Google search.  For example, to search these forums just add site:ficoforums.myfico.com to your keywords.  Example link:

https://www.google.com/search?q=amex+cli+site%3Aficoforums.myfico.com&oq=amex+cli+site%3Aficoforums.myfico.com&aqs=chrome..69i57.226j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8
