Amex CLI Question

I have the Amex EDP and Amex BCP. They were opened  about a month apart in 2016. The Credit Lines were exactly the same at $7000 until I received a Auto CLI increase in March on the Amex EDP which was the anniversary month. I only charge about $200 a month on the EDP and around $700 on the BCP. Is there a reason why the system increased the EDP other possibly the anniversary date? I know Amex won't do an increase on my BCP since you have to wait 6 months apart between increases. I'm curious on the parameters that Amex evaluates increases among cards. I have excellent payment history between both cards and my scores have increased due to recent credit line increases among all of my cards except capital one. My overall utilization is 40% but I'm working on lowering it to 20% in the next few months. I'll wait to see what happens, I'm not interested in requesting an increase in September. I rather let them do an auto increase.

Capital One QS $9,500| Credit one $3,350| Capital One Quick Silver One $500| Barclay View $6,250| Amazon Chase $4,200|Discover It $14,100| AMEX Everyday Preferred $20,000| Wells Fargo Active Cash $7,500| AMEX Blue Cash Preferred $28,000| Apple Card $4,750| Best Buy Visa $5,000| Citi Custom Cash $9,500| Chase Sapphire Preferred $9,500|Chase Unlimited Freedom $9,100|Amex Platinum| Venture X $10,000

Re: Amex CLI Question

Auto-increases do not cause a 181 day waiting period, only cardholder-initiated increases.  If you have not requested and received an increase on any Amex card in 6 months, you can ask at any time.  Amex's credit lines up to a point aren't necessarily based on spending but rather income, assets, and credit profile.

Re: Amex CLI Question

The Amex algo is gonna do what the Amex algo is gonna do. Might be that they went with the card that has less juicy rewards, if you're going to spend more on a card it would stand to reason that they would prefer it to be on a card that costs them less?

Inflation is at a 41 year high, so the Fed has "signalled" that interest rates will be going up to combat/counteract inflation.

I recommend paying on your debts to reduce their balances while interest rates are relatively low.
