Amex CLI Status

I requested a CLI online about a week ago and got the 7-10 day message.  I haven't requested (or been given) a CLI in over a year.

Anyhow, I got an email immediately saying that a decision had been made and there was a link to see the decision.  I followed the link, but after putting in all my information it just says that my application cannot be found at this time.  I'm guessing that I was denied, since my CL didn't increase online.  I would like to know the reason, but I'm a little nervous to call and speak to a CSR because I'm scared it might trigger a FR or something.

Any input?

Re: Amex CLI Status

really your scared to call your credit card company ? I hate to say it but grow up.... If you didn't commit fraud when you applied what are you worried about?

Re: Amex CLI Status

There is nothing to be scared about -it is after all your card information.  Give them a call and they will let you know where you stand.  If it is not an approval, you can certainly try again after 90 days making sure you've corrected their concerns.

Calling them to inquire about the status shouldn't trigger an F/R. Just call and ask them about the status of your credit limit increase request.

And like Lexie mentioned, there's nothing wrong or anything to be scared about inquiring on the reasons for the declined decision.

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
