Amex CLI

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does Amex ever offer automatic CLI's? I've been with them for five statements so far, but have seen nothing as of yet. Also, are Amex CLI's a soft pull?

Disco, on the other hand, seems to give them to me about every three statements.

Thanks,

...Will

Re: Amex CLI

Any lender can give them as they see fit. Amex rarely does though. You are well into the window where you can ask though, and yes they are SP.

Re: Amex CLI

I doubt that they dont, but most around here set their calendars for the first eligible day, so Amex never has a chance 😐

Disclaimer: I'd be asking too, but I dont like them one bit

Re: Amex CLI

Amex definitely does give auto CLIs, but most people ask for one before they get the chance to get an auto one. Asking is a SP, and you can generally try after 61 days. There's plenty of threads around the forum about Amex CLIs.

I know about the auto increases because I didn't know to ask for an increase until 10 years into my credit journey. My Amex Blue started at $1000 and now sits at $23000, all auto increases over a span of 14 years.

Is that the standard to go by, 61-days? Whether you're approved or denied? Just asking because I only get autos from Amex, and the last one was 6-months ago.

61 days from first increase on card. 6 months after any CLI. 91 days after a decline during an eligible period.

Yes, they do. I currently have 2 AMEX cards. One of them is a rebuilder Optima card and even though a rebuilder, it has been increased 1 time, through a request for 3x my limit. The second one, however, has been increased 4 times in 5 years, with only 2 of the increases having been requested and 2 have been automatic. My 1st cli on that card was a 3x cli request I made, the next 2 were automatic cli AMEX gave me, spaced 6 months apart, and just today, after no increase or attempt at an increase in a year and a half, I made a request and it was granted. I hope this info helps!
