Amex Costco transition?

I have four Amex cards (1 charge/3 credit) but received an invitation to apply for a Delta Skymiles Gold card yesterday, along with an RSVP code. What was peculiar is that this was sent in relation to my Costco card (the last four digits of my Costco card are clearly printed in the Email invitation). My guess is that Amex is starting to send out targeted offers to current Costco card holders, before they relinquish the contract to Visa starting March of next year. This seems too much of a coincidence. The offer is slightly better than the one on their website, with 35,000 bonus miles (with $1000 spend) instead of the 30,000 miles and also a $50 statement credit. But why Delta? Probably because I have spent a ton on travel using their charge and credit cards.

Has anyone received a similar offer in relation to their Costco cards?

Re: Amex Costco transition?

My roomate has long had the Costco card and I noticed his login has the same thing now -- a Delta card "prequalifier" or whatever. He has zero use for it.

He hopped on chat and asked about any other options, but as usual the reps didn't say anything useful just "we'll let you know when the date comes closer".

Interesting.   So far, I've only heard of targeted BCE offers for TE customers.   AFAIK, those offers were an SP to open a new account.   So you don't get to keep your history, but you can reallocate your CL.

I don't find anything else in the AMEX revolver lineup of much use to me, aside from my BCE, so I'm still opting to wait and see what happens.

I just got my Delta last Saturday, I wonder if i will recieve an offer such as yours since it's a brand new account AND if those offers (as yours) are only for older accounts.
