Do the MR points for the Everyday/Everyday Preferred post with a delay, like the Blue Cash cards? The Blue Cash cards post cashback like a statement behind.
yesss
Regular points are delayed.
The minimum spend bonus tends to post within days of meeting the minimum spend, as do merchant-specific promotions.

Any MR Points you accrue during a billing cycle will post AFTER the following billing cycle (30 day delay). The reason is that AMEX takes the extra time to ensure that any points you are due and credits you earned have time to post properly. It also is a precaution to prevent abuse by those who would earn points from spend, receive those points, use or transfer the points, then return or otherwise chargeback the transaction that earned the points.
+1 to richowe
You can review your pending points in point summary to give an estimate of what you will receieve in the next statement. I reached my 50k sub on my gold card and the points went into pending only two days later.

Sorry, that is pure corporate speak! Every other reward card issuer has the same potential problem with returns after redemption and somehow manage. "Time to post properly"? Well, they certainly have an extra month! Also, in many cases I could still return an item after say two months, so that doesn't solve the issue at all.
As an outsider, it seems to me the advantage is nearly all for Amex, basically keeping the rewards earned for an extra month.
This is one of the reasons why I closed my two Amex cards a few years ago.
Yeah it's kind of a pain, and I'm not really buying that justification either. But my Amex gold is still my best earning card. So I just deal with it.

If an item was returned after point redemption Amex could simply put the points in a negative position until future purchases are made. Are we to think that Amex cannot do what Quicksilver can? lol
Laughing and typing about crazy old Amex. Purging recent email I saw an item from earlier this week. The email is from Amex rewards department. Seems they don't have a mobile number for me and want me to update info! American Express is free at any time to provide me with a mobile phone and pay all expenses of the hardware and service. The phone will be on 24/7/365 for the exclusive use of American Express. Then they will have a mobile number.
American Express has done so many things to finagle out of honoring rewards. Now they want more ways to contact me?? Lol. I end up contacting them and of course it takes a few months for Amex to make things right.
Anex cards in SD since December. Are there rewards for that? Ha ha!
