I read in another thread your were trying to get some love from them.  Maybe your requests for CLI had something to do with the triggering of a FR.  If you provide the form and show that your income is higher, you might just get the CLI you have been wanting with them, particularly the 3x to $7,500 on your BCE.

yes ive tried 4 times for cli. they dont wanna give them to me. i think this FR was cause because i sent them a message about having a different income from when i first applied. im not surprised to be honest.

I understand your frustration with them.  I got Delta Amex in Feb 07 and in Dec 08 the CLD by half.  Since mid 2011 I had tried to get CLI and finally got one in Nov.  One rep on the phone said to use the account management tool online and continually update your income as you get increases, they said a large jump can trigger, but slow and steady is a good sign internally to Amex.  I go on every 6 months and adjust my income to reflect my current income.  (twice a year is due to annual raise in June and bonus in January.)  Since I got the CLI, I also got HHonors card 5 days ago with a higher CL than my Delta card.

Sorry you have been FR and you can definitely afford to let the cards go.

Re: Amex FR lol

You'd think sub primes (you know, the ones scared to give CLI's because you fall into the highest default category) would be the first to FR individuals to make sure you 'pony up' when due dates come around, whereas AMEX customers - generally seen as the "creme de la creme" of credit customers would be the last.  An interesting financial world we live in.

Nonetheless, IF I ever decide to hit AMEX up for credit, the first FR they give me will be the last time I possess their card.  If my (or anyones, for that matter) credit report and past payment history - coupled with my signature promising to pay as I have with other cards - isn't good enough, my annual fee and APR payments must not be, either.

Just my $.02

Re: Amex FR lol

ok so it seem they only want my 4506-t because of my request for a cli about 2 weeks ago. the csr said my accounts are open and she doesnt see any notes about sending in transcripts. so i hanged up and dont know what to do now. i think im just gonna wait it out and see what happens because in the letter says that if after 30 days they dont receive it "they will give no further consideration to your request".

I would still close the 2 subprime charge cards, that make you pay a total of $270 in annual fees for them.

Amex BCE $10,000 | BofA Power Rewards WMC $10,000 | Discover It $10,000 | ICBC Preferred Gold UnionPay $8,000 | Local CU Visa $3,500

Re: Amex FR lol

I close my 15K CL BCE card in September and have not looked back.  There was nothing wrong with them, I just didnt use the card much anymore after 18 months.

I have a 1.5%/everything AMEX from Penfed I primarily use, and also get 5% on gas and 3% on groceries with my Penfed Visa.

Re: Amex FR lol

All they want is that income verification because of the large jump in income.  Once you provide it, I believe you can get the BCE CLI you have been desiring.  On the other hand, dump the charge cards, you have no need for them and their puny rewards.

thats how i feel now. at first getting a amex was 'WOW" now its just meh. i rather carry 3 cards with a total cl of 30k+ then one with 2.5k. getting big cl really changed the way i see credit now. i rather give my bussiness to someone who trusts me with bigger CL.

I'm glad to see that there is somebody else on these forums that agrees that their charge cards aren't that great.
