Re: Amex Financial Review

Lol. Well like I said, the lounge access is what matters to me right now. In the end I’m sure I can get other cards with rewards if Amex decides to end their business with me. I hope that doesn’t happen, but such is life if it does. I do love the Amex combo of Plat/Gold/BBP. Are my MR points accessible right now? I have 45,000 points in my account. Would it be worth it to transfer to Delta now so I don’t end up losing them in case they close all the cards? Or just leave them?

Re: Amex Financial Review

We ended up on Bainbridge Island at a pub. Super good food and great atmosphere. I can’t get 4x points with my Amex Gold though. So sad. Lol.

Re: Amex Financial Review

OP, the answers you seek will be sent back by AMEX... after they get your tax transcripts. Smiley Wink

Rather than speculate what might happen, since you already have a good set of cards you like the earning and rewards, send in the 4506-T and let AMEX analysts do their job.

Re: Amex Financial Review

So we got into the Centurion Lounge at SEA. Yay! The guy did scan the card but nothing popped up on his screen I guess because he didn’t say anything. Now to deal with the rest of it when we get back.

Re: Amex Financial Review

I'm sorry but any thread that can be summed up with * Amex froze all my accounts, can I still use lounge* is comedy gold.

Re: Amex Financial Review

What can I say? I really like the lounges. Lol

And as I said, I have other cards and other reward systems in place. I was just excited to have one centralized reward system with Amex to make my life easier. On the plus side I just got a CLI from Discover. So that’s cool.

Re: Amex Financial Review

A little update. I talked to the Amex FR rep assigned to me. She said my cards absolutely will not be cancelled. I also made $11000 in payments on the BBP. She said they take that into account. She said after the review of my transcripts, they might set a hard limit on my charge cards instead of being NPSL. And then within a year I could request that they re-review my new transcripts. The other option is that they leave my cards how they are. I think the first option is the most likely because my income shows really low from my tax transcripts from last year as I’ve gotten a 30% raise from last year. And have my fiance’s income as well. So we’ll see. I just want to keep earning rewards.

On the plus side I booked a trip from the west coast to JFK for 16,000 miles round trip on Delta using MR points. So that’s a score.

Re: Amex Financial Review

I have been calling to check the status every couple of days (because I'm eagerly impatient) and just talking to the general reps. I talked to someone yesterday morning who said my tax transcripts hadn't come in. Then I called again in the evening and they said my tax transcripts had been received.

This morning (just now) I got an email saying that my limit on the BBP had been set at $3100. Considering my official limit before was only $2000 (with the ability to spend over the CL), I think this isn't too bad at all. I then logged in and checked my other cards. They left BCE at $1000 and Hilton at $5000. Then they gave me a limit of $3100 on the Gold and a $5000 limit on the Platinum (probably because this card has a over a year worth of high spend history).

It still says "charging suspended" on the accounts but I have a feeling that will probably get lifted when my rep gets in around 11:30 MST. My rep was supposedly out yesterday so not sure how the transcripts were reviewed and my limits updated? Maybe automated?

I'd say this is a pretty good outcome in the whole thing. This will be plenty of spend for me on a typical monthly basis and I never carry a balance so I could just make extra payments if I wanted to do extra spend for the rewards. I'm soooooo happppppyyyyy. Perfect timing as we're heading on a vacation with the kids here soon and it's my birthday.

And while I was writing this I got two more emails about my "preset limit" on the Platinum and Gold.

Oh and also, the excessive spend I did on the BBP was about $12,500 in two days so I got about 25,000 MR points so that was awesome. The only downside is I lost out on the points when we were in Seattle with restaurants etc. Now I have one day left to use my Uber and Dining credits on Platinum and Gold for the month of November. So hopefully they'll reactivate my cards asap! lol.
