Amex Gold MR points question

I just got a gold card in OCT. I spent $1500 before the first statement cut and I have 0 mr points. How is that possible? One charge was $253 in a restaraunt which should be 1000 points alone. The only thing I can think of is I paid before the statement cut, but that really doesnt make sense. Am I just sol or is it worth a call? I also got a BCP and it did earn some cash. TIA

Re: Amex Gold MR points question

Rewards are deposited in your account once the statement has closed and the payment for that statement has been processed (except for bonuses like Welcome Offers and additional points earned with Amex Offers, which essentially post immediately upon the charges finalizing).  If you pay charges prior to the statement closing, there can be a bit of a lag to credit them after your statement closes.  You can always seen the status of all points earned on the Points Summary screen.  To navigate there, click on the Rewards tab, and then choose Points Summary from the Rewards dropdown menu.

Re: Amex Gold MR points question

I noticed a lag when I first got my Gold card as well.  The statement always shows the MR points from the prior month - my November 8th statement show the points I have as of 9/30.
