With new accounts it can be a bit weird. These are from my first three Amex Gold statements last fall. As you can see, the first one shows no reward points, the second my sign up bonus and the third finally shows some results from spending.
Online, the points sort themselves out, usually within a few days after posting. Same with Dining credit and airline fee credit.. I've never not received bonus points where appropriate.
