The value is usually stated at around 0.5 cents per point which is why they give you so many with the cards. Dont be fooled

Not really that bad to be honest.. I use the no AF version Amex eating out and that is 5x for eating out thus 2.5c per point, not to bad to be honest... They have added up pretty quickly to be honest.. You can easily get a free night per year with not to much spend, just don't use it for general spend. Use it for eating out or hilton stays. I will be moving 8k of my ED card within a few months to this card.. No AF, I like that

The Amex Hilton is very everyday friendly with the 5X on gas groceries AND restaurants, the points aren't too great because the lowest level hotel starts at 20,000 points, but for no AF to justify its a nice card to have around if you plan to use it
