Carl's Jr would be better use of MR if the option was there. In any case, When using on 650mi or less, I am able to average quite the impressive cpp figure with BA (Over 2.5cpp) and the lack of a close in fee makes booking last hour awards less of a losing proposition.

say you're transferring 50k MR points. you spend 650 of them at McDonald's. now you can only transfer 49k because some programs require you to transfer in increments of 1000. that 650 points you spent means 1000 less miles lol.

Jeez people just let people use their points how they see fit and move on. Maybe OP had no travel transfer plans right now.
