Checking your limit online is ok if you do it occasionally, but if you do it too much you may be flagged for a FR.

Hi

I'm firmly in the garden (and looking for how to get a spade on my signature) - i would like to app for an amex gold charge in 12 months time, is there any way a knnowing if a transaction will be approved?

What i mean is - say you got your card, activated it - and went to Best Buy for your new $2000 tv - you have no way of knowing if the transaction will be approved or declined?

My mind is wandering - in anticipation lol

Before you go to the store Amex has an online feature that you can put in the amount and see will it be approved

Called the

Will my charges be approved button

You can also call them and ask them what your monthly spending limit is.  I asked them when I opened up my PRG a few weeks ago which they said at the time is only 20k but that is gets adjusted based on my spending pattern.
