I hold a BCP and BCE. I get a portion of my groceries from walmart online delivery which no longer codes as grocery due them Merging online+grocery biz. No longer makes sense to hold BCP. BCP has been held for 1 year, BCE for 16. I'm coming up on renewal and will call in to find out options.
See if there is a retention offer?
Normally I'd product change to avoid AF, but is that possible while holding a BCE?
Transfer credit limit to BCE and close card?
Advice?

Close the BCP.
You can have more than one BCE so downgrade is an option. Or you can just transfer credit (need to leave $1000 minimum on the donor) and close it.
Definitely check for retention offers first, though.
I know, the Walmart thing made me so mad because I only got to use my BCP there one time for the 6% back before they messed around and changed everything. Gave it to my husband to use at the other grocery stores he shops at.
If Walmart is your main grocery store, I personally would close it and try to transfer some limit to the BCE. If you have a large family and do your grocery shopping elsewhere, I would keep it open. With my 5 member family, we spend $300+ monthly on non Walmart grocery stores so I can justify the $95 AF.
You should be able to product change from BCP to Cash Magnet. DW pc'd from Cash Magnet to BCE via online chat, no phone call was required.
Just a note, if you don't mind using gift cards Fluz might be an option... the last time I checked (back in the summer) "Walmart Grocery" coded as grocery with Amex (as well as other cards I've tried).
Also notable, before the recent WM change gift cards couldn't be used for grocery orders, but they can be now. Also note that with Walmart Pay it's easy-peasy to use electronic gift cards even at the register in the store (this is the only reason I'm willing to bother with it).
