Congrats!
I was told I am not eligible for the offer, so I backed out of the application. :/
Correct.

They are not on the same chip...you can have the emv chip without the contactless chip.... Apparently the chip used In the contactless requires them to sandwich two pieces of metal together to get it inside rather then it being a solid card with a EMV chip on top
The contactless chip is literally inside the card
I want to confirm incognito worked. Approved W/50K sub.

I thought it was the antenna sandwiched in there, not another chip?

@Anonymous wrote:Also, I forgot to note that I purposefully asked for the non contactless version of the metal card.
Platnium card holders said they noticed a different in the thickness of their cards between the contactless and non-contactless. I don't know if this is true and/or will be true for the Gold card, however I hate the contactless symbol on the front (ugly AF) so I purposefully asked for the one without the contactless. The CSP did confirm that the card comes in both those versions and you can pick which one you want.
Good observation. I don't want the contactless either, same reasons you stated I think they look ugly and it may not be as thick. I didn't tell the CSR specifically what I wanted, but my guess is the non-contactless will be sent by default unless you request contactless? Or maybe i'm wrong because the main picture of the gold card on their official webaite does show the contactlss symbol lol..........I should call Amex back......
I was able to confirm that currently non-contactless is the default for all American Express cards. Contactless is by request only.

Why would the marketing for Gold show the logo if it wasn't there by default?
Thanks for confirming this! So it looks like everyone will get the non-contactless unless they ask otherwise. Nice, since the non contactless looks better anyways
