Logged into Amex to check charge and payment postings and decided to check the pre-approval section, like I always do, and came across this. Some cards are showing language like it always has, that I'm not pre-approved. Other cards are showing an application. Did I miss something? Are SP approvals a thing of the past? Or is the application cards the ones that aren't pre-approved now?
And who's gonna be the first guinea pig?
Can confirm. I always am preapproved for BCE even though I can't get the bonus.
The rest of them saying "expand your membership" like always.
I don't see any significant changes from my end. Any of the ones that I currently don't have still display as pre-approved. So, to me, no pre-approval changes display ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Interesting. I wonder if the application cards will be hard pulls now

I applied in incognito all the time for the better sub. It looks like that, still SP.
I'm seeing the same thing as @FinStar on several cards (Deltas, Green, and Hilton). Unless something changed with that even on a new account page where you have to fill in the information like you were a new customer the SSN being pulled should be enough to triger the SP for the application; some people going incognito to pull the better offers is why some do this voluntairly for instance

Yep, unless you're one of the minor ones who get the oddball HP it should still be a SP regardless

Yeah my BCP was a SP approval despite being incognito to get a $300 SUB offer.

Yeah, but this is different. I'm logged in so it knows it's me before I hit apply.
