Greetings, my EX is currently at 688, should be over 700 once my statement cuts with less than 9% util down from 45%. When i used the Amex prequalify offer and I view the info about the BCE card it shows an APR of 17.74%, no range. Does that mean it's a direct offer and not a general one? Thanks.
Generally, yes. Big range is a marketing offer. No range or 3% range normally indicates true prequalification.
That should be a solid offer. There may be a lag time, but if you waited until after your credit reports update you may have a better chance of 13.74-15.74% APR (if that is important to you, I also recently had luck getting an immediate APR reduction on my SPG when I got the mid-tier APR at approval) as well as a higher starting line. 688 should still be fine for a BCE approval, though, and even if you got a low SL that can multiply quickly ($1k can become $27k in about 14 months with three consecutive 3X CLIs).
