I agree to this - Since they go by the soft pulls it wil lbe dependant on what is in your file at time of pull.  Did you apply and if so, what was the message received?

I, actually didnt apply yet. What I wanted to do was to PC my green to a PRG. I'm asking about a recon incase they deny my PC I wanted to know what the chances were of a reconsideration, lol.

I doubt they'd deny that

One would assume so, and hope not. However, we're talking about my luck here, lol.

They're not taking any extra risk, just getting an extra 100 AF from you. lol

Lol. Yeah, I know the $100.00 more is a hit, but I feel it'll be worth it to me, as I would get better bang for my buck then I do with the green.

You actually bring an interesting scenario up.  Can one actually recon a PC when denied?  Will this be the first?  Probably not - being the first to recon a PC.  I think they will go by your soft pulled report and so try.  All they can say is a NO.

What product are you looking ot PC to?

I'm looking to PC my green to the PRG (Rewards Gold)

Why not just apply straight up for the PRG?  It wil lbe a soft pull any way instead of PC'ing?

Re: Amex Recon?

I mean I've taken care of the green card for them, lol. Used it heavily off and on just to build a relationship, PIF every month obviously. I wouldn't see a reason to deny me. As the other poster said. They're only helping themselves by taking the extra greenbacks from me.

But, then i'd have both cards, and i'd be paying both AFs. I don't really like canceling a card. Because i'd cancel out that history with them.

Apply for the PRG and if approved, call and cancel the Green outright.

Re: Amex Recon?

Wouldn't that cancel out my history with them then though? I'd be seen as a "new" customer instead of one with the good history, no?

That will not cancel your history with them.  Ones you have a card, you build your internal score also and that is used to determine furture apps.  Nothing is cacelled out.

Ok, thanks. Now I know you wouldnt know for sure, but in your opinion: What're the approval odds? They deny me for the ED card twice now for reasons of "Not enough history" Are the charge cards typically easier to be approved for then the revolver? Especially considering i already have one.

Charge cards are easier to get.  But what are your scores and when was the last 2 denial?  The consolation in the denial is that you don't get a hardpull for the application.  So when was the last denial?
