oh there was no laughter lol. but how long have you had the card?
and someone said its a soft pull... idk about that. i hope so because i applied for the BCP and got denied because my ED is only 2 months old. they said i didn't have enough history with them
If you apply for an Amex and get denied, then it is a SOFTPULL for an already existing card holder...
I'm catching this late, but I didn't see anyone else mention that Amex no longer back dates - that may have played a role in whether or not you would have wanted to PC or apply outright.
On that note, if one does successfully PC, and since Amex no longer backdates, would the PC retain the old "member since" date?
@Anonymous wrote:Surprising that the OP got denied for a PRG when he had a good history with the Green. Everyone always says how the amex charge cards all have the same underwriting and make it sound as if you qualify for one you can qualify for any of them...
Guess this confirmed my suspicion that the Plat and PRG is harder to get than the Green.
Although I tend to agree with you that the Plat and PRG are harder to get, (to me that's simply common sense), it may not have been strictly an underwriting issue. It may have been Amex being unwilling to issue a new card based on limited experience with the first.

thanks Yes-It's-Me. that makes me super happy because i did the app for the BDP and citi DC and got a double denial lol. luckily i only have one HP to worry about then!
Yep.. Tht is a really nice policy Amex has.. I wish others will adopt this when it comes to new apps. But one can wish right..

BCP btw. idk what a BDP is lol. they said i was able to PC my ED in september
Figured the BDP was an error.. You are having too much fun this long holiday weekend But good to know you can PC. Give it some time and Amex will give you massive luv..
