Re: Amex Serve Online CC Loading Options Changing

I got the email and wasn't surprised. I predicted in a thread a month ago this would happen sooner or later.  Amex can't indefinitely incur swipe charges paid to Visa and MC to allow this kind of funding, and the issuers of the funding card  couldn't allow what is essentially a cash advance without the fee.  I've never used anything but my BCP to fund the Serve, so it doesn't affect me in the slightest.

FICO Scores (MARCH 2016): EQ 829; EX 825; TU 828
AmEx BCP $25,000; AmEx Platinum (NPSL); Barclaycard JetBlue Rewards $5,000; Bank of America Cash Rewards $27,500; Chase Sapphire Preferred $33,700; Chase Marriott Rewards Premier $15,000; Chase Freedom $12,000; Citi Prestige $30,500; Virgin America Premium $25,000; The Home Depot Card $20,500; Capital One Platinum $15,000

He must've churned like $800K last month, so next we know, Serve gets nerfed :-P

Nah, too busy selling chemical weapon prescursers to ISIS last month to get round to loading serve.  Slightly more profitable as well.

I don't have an Amex.

Even if I did, I wouldn't use it for Serve. I loved Serve for what it did. Smiley Sad

Right, far and away the Issuer's biggest concern is this allows anyone to effectively bypass cashadvance fees they'd much rather make.

Re: Amex Serve Online CC Loading Options Changing

I wonder if the whole buying AMEX gift cards first would still work to then allow loading onto serve to use for billpay, etc.

Note: I don't have a Serve so I've never gone this far into it. Just a thought, really.
