Amex Shipt Coding

Saw a few earlier posts that Amex codes Shipt as groceries, which is why I used my Everyday Preferred on a large order last week.

Looks like that's changed in the year or so since someone posted about it Smiley Sad

Re: Amex Shipt Coding

Thru trial and error, I figured out Amazon Fresh will code as supermarket on the Everyday card but not on BCP. I haven’t tried Shipt but now I know not to use my Everyday card for the supermarket points since it doesn’t code it. Thanks for your post!

That's really weird that it would code differently on cards from the same issuer.

Shipt worked as groceries for me with the BCP and BCE, but granted, it has been many months since I last placed an order.

@wngraham, as you've implied, it definitely looks like a 1X reward.

In the bottom right corner, the graphic you've earned "1X on other purchases." It's critical to understand that with AMEX cards, coding as groceries doesn't guarantee earning 3X at US Supermarkets.
