Re: Amex Zync Approved!!!!

You can use your new charge card aggressively.  There will be some initial limit.  Use the check spending button to check what your initial max might be.  However it should grow quickly.  I was able to grow my NPSL from 3.5k to oer 70k in 3 months or so.

Thanks, that's a great increase! Now when I apply for the BCE in January 2013 and if I hopefully get approved, would I be able to cancel the Zync then and avoid having to pay for the AF for the second year. Or do I need to hold onto the Zync for a minimum of a year before cancelling?

Re: Amex Zync Approved!!!!

You can cancel at any time.  Might be worth it however to see if they will give you retention bonus (probably won't get it).  Another option is somehow apply for non Zync Amex charge card where first year AF is waived so you can turn your MR express points into MR points and then cancel Zync.  Luckily nothing to worry about till January.  Enjoy the Zync, Amex charge cards are actually pretty nice.

Re: Amex Zync Approved!!!!

Just curious, would applying for Amex BCE right now after the Zync approval result in a HP if denied?

Re: Amex Zync Approved!!!!

If account is set up in AMEX with new Zync and you apply while you are logged in, it should be soft.  BUT DONT DO IT.  You have already been rejected once.  Nothing has changed aside from you have taken another inquiry and lowered your FICO score.  You need to build some payment history with AMEX before applying.  While there doesn't seem to be any harm in app when already an AMEX customer as it is only soft inquiry, there is anedotal evidence that when you are rejected for another AMEX, it lowers your AMEX internal score for a time and makes it harder for you to get approved next time.

Yeah I actually wasn't going to go ahead and apply because none of the reasons as to why I got denied before have changed. It was more for just curiosity's sake Smiley Happy Anyways, if I were to get approved for the BCE anytime between January through June of 2013 wouldn't the card be backdated earlier on then if I were to get approved now?

Re: Amex Zync Approved!!!!

Drew~

I would wait until Jan 2013, which is what I plan to do also before apping for another Amex card. The reason is, say you are approved in Jan 2013, but it will have a member date of Jan 2012 actually earlier than your most recent Zync card..So it will help with AAOA..It will be a soft pull when you app (mk sure you are logged in) and if you are approved it will be a HP
