First post!!!!
I've just been approved for the Zync card today. Applied online without preselected mail offers. Nothing online as well. I have a very limited credit history: 9 months auto loan, a Capital One cc opened 2/2010, and the BBRZMC opened 4/2010. I have a LOT of inquiries across the 3 CRAs: 13 EQ, 6TU, and 7EX. Scores are 683 TU (5/2010), 668 EQ (6/2010), and 652 EX FAKO from quizzle (2/2010). I just could not resist applying after seeing all the happy people being approved here. Lol. Anyway, I read mostly they pull EX and I thought what would 1 inq do to my EX (7inqs, compared to 13 in EQ). So I pulled the trigger and applied online today. Instant approval! Woo!
By the way, almost all the inquiries are from credit card applications from an app spree from Feb to April. Almost all besides those two that I have now, I was denied. Now that I'm with Amex, I will not be applying for a very long time.
ps. The only downside to my reports is the limited history. I have clean reports, with utilization less than 9%.
Congrats!!! Enjoy your new card, I have the Zync as well..You'll get 10,000 rewards points when you use your card for the first time..
Thanks! It was actually your posts that inspired me to apply. :-)
CONGRATS!!
As soon as I read this thread, I rushed to the Amex app and................ .........................I'm approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL, I have double digit inqs on all CBs, 0.8 yr CH, 5 new open accounts, but still i got approved

yes, I know. I guess creditors still like me, LOL. I never carry balances, and payoff my cards the next day of purchases. Moreover, my total available credit grew from $500 to $3000 in 0.8 yrs. Hard work payin off I suppose
Congratulations.
I had posted previously about Amex's internal scoring system. I'm pretty sure that you had a fairly clean and straightened out credit report when you apped because Jolly Roger said (in previous post) that he had been denied with a Fico score 0f 730+. That's what I mean- you can have a high Fico score although your report is thin. A prime example is a college student who doesn't have alot of credit experience but who might have a high score because there are no baddies on his report.
EDIT: A person with a 680 score but longer credit history with a baddie or two from 2+ years ago I think displays a much lower credit risk than someone who is new to credit and has no baddies with a 730 score. I'm pretty sure this is somewhat along the lines of Amex's internal scoring- it couldn't be too complicated. IMHO
Congrats again- I'm sure this card will power-assist you into the 700 club!!!

I agree 100%.
Did anyone add any lifestyle packs to their Zync card?
I added the GO pack and the Restaurant pack to my card
