You definitely do not get signup bonuses or a waived annual fee if you just "upgrade" an existing account. Though sometimes they offer bonuses for upgrades. It also doesn't require a hard pull to change account type. If you apply for a seperate account, you may get signup bonuses and a waived annual fee, but it will definitely be a hard pull if approved. I think you just have to see the website is showing you any signup bonuses if you click on the card.
If you go for a new account, it will give you another backdated Amex account on your report, which could lower or raise your AAoA based on how long ago you got your first Amex and your existing AAoA. So another account could ding you, or it could actually help you.
Considered this, but i know i would never keep it beyond 1 year because of the AF
I think I'm leaning toward this.. Because I kinda wanted to just try it out but not sure if I want to take the hard just fr 1 year. When I travel, I could use my BCP or CSP, they have just about the same benefits to my knowledge.

Sorry to be a little off topic, but I have always heard the Zync was non-upgradeable? Did Amex change this recently?
