Re: Amex and Bankruptcy Policy...Can anyone help with this question?

In my wife's case, as long as her BK was reporting, Amex wanted nothing to do with her. I know. I tried 3 times and each time was an instant denial, citing BK. A few months after the BK disappeared I tried again and was instantly approved. This was a few years ago. Things may be different now.

Amex BCE $11.1 / Citi Diamond Preferred WMC $12K / Citi Double Cash WMC $3.8K / Comenity Total Rewards Visa $2.5K / Citi Home Depot $5K / AU- Amex BCP $12K / Chase Freedom Visa $11014.00 / PenFed Platinum Rewards Visa Signature $6K / GE Lowes $10K

For those of you who were approved after a BK, was AMEX included in your BK and they still approved you for a new card? My BK was over 12 years ago and included AMEX. I have wanted to apply with them again, but always thought they would deny based on past history with them. Is there an AMEX card with better chances of getting approved?

in the past if denied for blacklist it would instantly decline the app and would not pull credit.

@hockeymom, the charge cards are easier to get. Its hard to tell whether you are still blacklisted without you applying.
