Amex and backdate

Hi,

i need some advice as to which is the easiest(if that even exist) Amex card to get? Also, if i do get a card, will they back date my card from where i had a green amex card back in 2000? if so, then it will obviously help my AAOA, right?

Thanks guys!

Re: Amex and backdate

Their charge cards are easier to get than their revolving cards.  I don't think it matters which charge card you app for.

From what I've read on here, backdating is their biggest advantage so I would say yes!

Re: Amex and backdate

so wha exactly will amex report to the CRA's if i get approved and they back date? will it show that i've been paying this entire time? or will it just show that i've been with them since 2000? sorry, i'm a bit confused Smiley Embarassed

Re: Amex and backdate

Your new TL will just show an open date to match your membership since date.  I don't imagine it would show any payment history since there isn't any.

Re: Amex and backdate

The card will likely say that it was opened in the month that you opened it, but in the year 2000.  But it will show the real date for the "first reported" field and will not show any previous payment history before it was really opened.
